(extend the point) Then press the point firmly on a hard surface. It will pop the pen apart, (out the top), giving you access to the ink cartridge. Writes well, grip is perfect, stylus in the right spot, but I will have to throw it away at some future date. Cannot open it to replace cartridge... Yes, the cap unscrews but cartridge will not pull/fall out. Too expensive for a "throw-away" . Might as well get a handful of 10 cent Bic's.
